This study aimed to evaluate the festival service quality of the cultural-art and eco-nature festival using importance-performance analysis. Specifically, the present study focused on identifying the difference between importance and performance of the festival service quality. 277 samples in total were utilized for the final analysis. Frequency analysis was implemented for identifying the demographical and festival participation behavior characteristics. Factor analysis and reliability analysis were also utilized for testifying the reliability and validity of festival service qualtiy. Finally, the IPA method was implemented to find out the importance and performance of festival service quality perceived by the participants. The results of this study suggested how to improve the festival service quality and what kinds of component factors would be more focused on improving the festival service quality.

This study focused on the moderating effect of destination attachment(place identity, place dependence) in analyzing the influence of tourists' return visit intention according to tourist image. Through the previous study, the measurement variables for tourist image, revisit intention and destination attachment were derived, and regression analysis and adjusted regression analysis were performed using 237 parts of total valid samples for analysis. The findings are as follows: first, cognitive image and affective image, which belong to tourist image, had positive effects on revisit intention. Second, place identity and place dependence had moderating effects on the relation between cognitive image and revisit intention. These results showed that the development of new, unique and distinctive tourism products is very important not only for the development in tourism destination products but also for the planning, development and promotion of the tourism industry.

The project for Building JeoJi Culture & Artist Village where artists all over the country come to stay began in 1999. In the analysis of causal relationship for social capital and regional cultural tourism, the former as a cause variable and the latter as a parameter was set up. First, the result of analysis showed that social capital influenced both financial and non-financial incentives but unlike other variables, trust and norm gave negative effect. Second, in interviews, there were some comments on causes of low effectiveness in economic, social and cultural development like lack of common interest, differences in life style. Therefore, local government should develop the policy that covers the pointed issues to support creation of riffle-effects. Lastly, In order to increase effectiveness of regional cultural tourism, It is necessary to promote highly influential factors such as participation, networking and input trust factors. Based on the result, this study debated on policies and ways to raise social capital.

The purpose of this research is to explore The Minister of Tourism? or The Head of the Tourism Agency? In-depth interviews with 10 tourism experts were conducted by asking questions about the past, the present, and the future of South Korea Government Tourism Organization. The 10 interviewees were conveniently selected and they had more than 25 years of working experience. The in-depth interview was administered from February to July in 2019. Results showed that the answers of the interviewees about the past, the present, and the future were closely related to each other. In other words, the fact that Korea is not highly dependent on tourism industry whose contribution to the national economy is not so significant has made it challenging for the government to create an independent organization for tourism alone in the past. Despite the growing importance of the tourism industry which has become high value-added ever in the history, it may be rather too early to foster a tourism department in the government organization, considering its little influence on the economy. Also, it is about time to proactively consider the 'pre-stage' Ministry of Tourism since establishing an independent tourism department has a possibility of creating the departmental silos and the resistance from ministry of Culture and Sports.

The purpose of this study is first, to identify the causality between the demand of Vietnamese tourists visiting Korea and the Korean-Vietnam trade; second, to empirically analyze and predict the long-run and short-run dynamic effects of the two. Estimates of the VECM showed that the long-run elasticity of the Korean-Vietnam trade and the demand of Vietnamese Tourists visiting Korea was 1.289. As a result of the analysis of the Impulse Response Function, the trade shock between Korea and Vietnam had a positive effect on the demand of Vietnamese Tourists visiting Korea from two months. And the impact of the demand of Vietnamese Tourists visiting Korea had a positive effect on the trade for the first two months, but not much in the long run. As a result of Forecast Error Variance Decomposition, it is estimated that if the trade between Korea and Vietnam changes, the effect on the demand for tourists from Vietnam will gradually increase.

The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of general and situational factors that trigger travel experience sharing on social media. General influencing factors include 'experience sharing tendency' and 'social media use behavior', and 'characteristics of a trip' were treated as situational factors. A survey was conducted for empirical test and a total of 156 responses from Korean and Uzbekistan university students was used for analyses. The results indicate that both of the general factors including information sharing frequency and daily social media use are significant to affect travel experience sharing on social media. Also length of trip and number of companions, among trip characteristics, appear to significantly impact the behavior of passing on travel-related experiences on social media. This study supports the significance of situational factors on travelers' behavioral outcomes of experience sharing. Practical implications and directions for future research are addressed.

There has been a significant increase in demand to attract large conferences recently due to the substantial impact of the MICE industry on the local economy. In order to meet the rising demand for hosting conferences, many cities and provinces are building or expanding convention centers. MICE industry in Korea has grown rapidly, and it is necessary to achieve optimal efficiency by comparing various convention centers in order to maintain its competitiveness. In this study, the relative efficiency of 10 major convention centers was measured by using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) model. The CCR and BCC model were used to obtain the net technical efficiency and the scale efficiency. Output and input slacks of less efficient convention centers were measured which can contribute to a better understanding of methods to achieve optimal efficiency.

The COVID-19 crisis is challenging tourist industries worldwide. It may offer invaluable opportunities to reset tourism toward a better pathway for the future. The purpose of this study was to explore the importance and performance level of the quarantine of the tourist service business during the crisis of spreading corona virus to predict the new normal 2.0 tourism. The 502 data was collected from Feb. 29 to Mar. 1, 2020 at the Jeju National Airport. As a research method, the traditional IPA and the revised IPA analysis were carried out together. The results showed that virus protection for public transportation, lodging facilities, and souvenir shops that tourists consider important should be thoroughly implemented to prevent an epidemic of corona virus. In order to revitalize tourism industry in the era of new normal 2.0, a tourism transformation based on sustainability is needed.

The purpose of this study is to grasp the difference between the importance and satisfaction of the tourist selection attribute according to the tourist motivation of visitors to Jeonju Hanok Village Cultural Heritage Tourism City. As a result of IPA analysis, in the first quadrant (maintenance), food, mood, and staff service were investigated. In the second quadrant (concentration), convenience items were required to be improved. The third quadrant (low priority) included exchanges with local people, connectivity with other tourist attractions, diversity of events, and shopping. Fourth quadrant (excess) showed high satisfaction as an experience activity. In the future, it can be used as an important basic data for establishing the development direction and marketing of Jeonju, a cultural heritage tourist destination.

In today's fiercely competitive environment, hotel companies value hotel image in order to secure competitive advantage and to differentiate themselves from other brands. In this study, we sought to explore the relationship among the effects of hotel image, brand preference, and purchasing intention, which is relatively less covered in prior research. Three hypotheses have been established and verified that the physical and emotional images and the sub-dimensional to the hotel image, have statistically significant effects on both brand preferences and purchasing intentions. It was also shown that brand preference has a significant impact on purchasing intentions. The results of this study can provide basic data for identifying and utilizing the importance of hotel images and establishing marketing strategies for continuous image management of hotel companies.
