Competence, personality, creativity and convergence in the curriculum(2015 Revised National Curriculum) are not easy terms. The Korean language education has the responsibility to respond to the demands presented by the curriculum and the demands of the Korean language itself. This article attempted to discuss research achievements and possibilities based on the above terms in the curriculum(2015 Revised National Curriculum). The core competence of Korean language education is the collective capability of learners encompassing the knowledge, skill and attitude required to successfully cope with the success of the present and future life. The purpose, core values, and core competencies of character education are in common terms with Korean language education. It is difficult to find someone who uses Korean language education to clean up its inner self through language, and to deny it as a human being. Due to the nature of the language, the Korean language education will be highly influenced by the importance of education because the contents of the language are very rich and diverse. Given that the emphasis on core competence, personality and creativity is emphasized in the essence, emphasizing these things in education, education can emphasize the importance of these things. However, in the educational act of fostering language proficiency, it is not independent but rather interconnected. In the curriculum of the emphasis on core competence, personality and creativity, the success and failure of Korean language education of the creative·convergence with Korean language educational ability and the right character will be judged according to the growth and potential for change of the learner.

This study starts with the question how creativity in Korean Education can be differentiated from other subjects even though there is a great interest and importance in creativity. First of all, I restructure the concept and the structure of creativity based on the essence of literary activities from a new perspective. Second, I probe the feasibility in the dimension of subject education through authentic Sijo[時調] works. I expect that the result of the study will lead to creativity education discussion, a chance to have a new understanding of creativity. Moreover, I hope it will be an opportunity to see the essence of Korean Education in a new light. I think it will be a chance to change it as well, expecting virtuous circulation to recognize creativity anew. In the second chapter, I try methodical doubt embedded in the study of creativity and review the effect of the result of the study of creativity so far on literature education critically. Furthermore, noticing that the essence of literary activities is connected to creativity, I restructure the concept of creativity as advancing different understanding from past in the process of adjustment or transformation in the suitable context on the basis of the point the reader links the text world to his or her experience in life, evaluates and judges it. In the third chapter, I take a look at real phase where creativity is come true through accepting the text world actively and independently, targeting Sijo[時調] works about crows. I reckon the feasibility of creativity in the aspects of discovery, formation, modification, adjustment, expansion and intensification of problematic situations, and exploration for alternatives. I believe that literature education and creativity will bring about interest in the contact point of acceptance and production, and shift of interest toward the text world.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of the undergraduate course titled Reading Education for Creativity & Personality. This course was developed as a sub-project in a funded study and operated twice in 2013 and 2015 in K Univ, Seoul, Korea. Totally 56 undergraduate students with 7 majors in college of education participated in this study. All students in this study joined a full-semester training(16 weeks), including identifying concepts of creativity·personality education and developing reading programs to enhance creativity·personality. Data from the survey(pre/post, Creativity·Personality teaching efficacy), self-report, and course evaluation were collected. The survey results showed significantly higher development in all factors, from Creativity·Personality teaching perception to Creativity·Personality teaching efficacy by teaching reading. In addition, positive gender effect and grade effect(male, 3rd grade) were identified. In qualitative analysis, 3 themes of course benefits were discussed with excerpts of the students' self-reports. Based on the results, some suggestions were provided for researchers and teachers for further investigation.

This study was to purpose to draw on implications for Korean education in relation to 21st century key competencies by investigating the case of Japan. In particular, with focus on mother tongue education, this study seek to discover how the discourse of key competencies dialogued/dialogue with traditional discourse of school education(i.e. educational policy, curriculum and evaluation) in Japan. What the research questions of this study were 1) what procedure of competency education are for Japan and what lessons from them are; 2) what is the country-level assessment of key competencies in detail and what possibilities and limitations are of them; 3) In regarding appropriation of the notion of key competencies, what would be future directions for competency education and assessment in school. Consequently, for the future directions for 21st century education with focus on key competencies, this study suggested the followings: In more autonomous stance, the discourse of key competencies as global direction of education should be delved into and dialogue with Korean traditional school contexts. Educational stake holders needs for the long- term and deliberation to make decision with evidence basis.

This study aims to examine and discuss Korean adolescents' oral language culture, based on the results of the survey from 3,429 adolescents, ranging from 10 to 18 years old, which was conducted by National Institute of Korean Language. Researchers defined the adolescents' language culture as a hierarchical structure which consists of three layers, namely, expression, behavior, and thought. Unlike previous studies which have focused on the expression layer, this study tries to focus on the behavior and thought layer of adolescents' language culture. Researchers selected four categories-two are from behavior layer, and another two are from thought layer-as the locus which Korean adolescents' oral language culture shows its unique characteristics: (a) Active Participation in Public Communication(APPC); (b) Empathic Attitude in Private Communication(EAPC); (c) Recognition of Language as Self-Expression(RLSE); and (d) Recognition of Communication Role Model(RCRM). And Researchers analyzed the difference of survey result by school year, sex, and scale of residential area. The findings are as follows: (1) There is decreases in three cultural aspects, including APPC(public speech and discussion), EAPC(with parents), and RCRM; (2) There is difference between male and female adolescents in three cultural aspects, including APPC(discussion), EAPC(with peers), and RLSE. Female adolescents where higher than male in all cultural aspects; (3) There is difference among metropolitan, urban, and rural adolescents in three cultural aspects, including APPC(public speech and discussion), EAPC(with peers and with parents), RLSE. In all cultural aspects, metropolitan adolescents were higher than urban and rural adolescents or than rural adolescents. Some general discussions were given in conclusion.

This paper is planned to explore the desirable direction for the culture reading education in university and the useful value and its plan of sino-Korean prose works as a material for the culture reading education in university. The current status of university has been seriously weakened, in accordance with the alteration in social-economic conditions; also, in the cultural education, the numerous transformations have been executed according to the requirements from the nation, society, and enterprises. Under the critical mind about what direction the culture reading education in university in this state should be aiming at and what text and how we should educate, this paper focused on the sino-Korean prose works. All the sino-Korean prose works, such as nonsul-ryu (論說類), seobal-ryu (序跋類), seogan-ryu (書簡類), juui-ryu (奏議類), etc., are the texts that fulfilled a certain role and functions in the contemporary political, social, and cultural contexts and accurately reflected the contemporary social aspect, which have a high value as the cultural education material in that we could grasp the contemporary environment and context, interpret the text based on this, and induce an active and critical reading training deriving the reverse meanings which functioned actually in contemporary reality. In this paper, the cultural reading class model was suggested by using 「Sa-ho-jo-cham-ui-so (辭戶曹參議疏)」, an appealing text of Kim Chang-hyeop as the materials. First of all, in order to analyze 「Sa-ho-jo-cham-ui-so」 considering the stylistic traits of an appealing text and a preface and the background and context for each work, the text was precisely analyzed and based on this, the cultural reading class model was presented in which the two texts were adopted as a material. Through this, we could examine whether or not the critical reading training to grasp the background, context, writing form, and structure of the texts and to actively apply this to the analysis, would be possible when utilizing the sino-Korean prose works as the material of cultural reading class. In addition, we established that such class model could be the opportunity to awake the essence of cultural reading education in university which could foster the critical intellect which would not be swept by the printing types overflowing in all areas, including the modern politics, society, and press, as well as classics.

This article tries to conduct research with its period of interest limited to the times from the US military government to the foundation of the Korean government in the horizontal dimension of the history of Korean language education under its awareness of the fact that work on Korean language textbooks since the National Liberation has been an important basis for the establishment of the identity and framework of the Korean language subject under the Curriculum led by the government. Existing research on sentence unit grammar knowledge has limitations that are limited to specific grammatical categories. Therefore, it is necessary to study the grammar knowledge setting and system of sentence unit grammar of the middle school grammar bulletin at the time of the US military period in that the study of grammatical texts at a certain period is rare in the horizontal dimension. In addition, the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development (2002), which is a grammatical textbook according to the 7th curriculum, applied the textbooks of reading and grammar as an elective course for 2011 and 2015 revised curriculum, Which is the last state textbook of modern education and period at the present time. Through this study, we can see how we can distinguish between sentence unit grammar knowledge and word unit grammar knowledge, and whether the nomenclature of grammar terms we use is form-centered or syntactic-centered. It is expected that you will be able to discover one possibility that can be.

This study aims to achieve qualitative research on the linguistic consciousness of the internet. This paper reviewed works of linguistic regarding norm and consciousness, and took note of social tax that is negative impact on the writer's ethos. Then internet replies at the internet news media were collected according to the procedures. 1,500 replies analysed by linguistic norms were recorded in Excel and 29,380 replies on 1,500 replies were investigated to observe responses to errors. 161 replies in response to replies containing errors were categorized three types: 'simple proofreading', 'making fun of error', 'negative evaluation'. As a result, it was confirmed that there was a self-purification of the using non-normative language in the Internet language ecosystem. The public saw the non-normative language and reacted differently. The public has shown a variety of responses to non - normative languages, and when negative evaluations have been excessive, they have manifested repulsion. In Korean language education, in order to cope with this phenomenon, it is necessary to expand the outline of peer assessment and to make good assessment of peer as education contents. Finally, there must be a large-scale study of non-normative language that bear more social taxes and expressions that do not.

The rule of Korean glottalization is exceedingly complicated. One kind of Korean glottalization phenomenon is not in Korean Standard Pronunciation. That is the irregular glottalization of Sino-Korean, as 'ingi[ink'i], mulga[mulk'a], sageon[sak'□n]'. There is no complete description on this phenomenon till now. The explanations are excessively complicated and most of them are not helpful for teaching foreign learners. In this study, I try to find plans for teaching Chinese Korean learners this phonological phenomenon. Chinese Korean learners misread the Sino-Korean words with irregular glottalization mostly during the investigation. External factors, such as teachers, textbooks, seem to be the reasons. Particularly, most of the teachers in China who are teaching Korean language to the Chinese students are Chinese local teachers. They do not have pronunciation intuition. Communicative language teaching approach makes Korean teachers treat pronunciation education a matter lightly than before. There is no detailed explanation of this phenomenon in textbooks, either. Therefore, I suggest some teaching plans and means of this problem in this study.

10컴퓨터 기반 한국어 초급 말하기 평가의 타당도 검증 연구

This paper aims to verify the validation of KSPTⅠ(Korean Speaking Test Ⅰ) which is developed as a computer-based test tool. For this aim, a simulated test was conducted on the target of 115 applicants. The result of the simulated test showed that the overall reliability and the reliability of each construct were around .70 which reaches an adequate level. The correlation between the test score and three constructs- pronunciation, accuracy, and content-was high enough but the fluency did not measure independently from the other constructs. It refers that the definition of fluency construct should be clarified, and that it is necessary to complement the criteria for scoring. Difficulty level and discrimination index of most of the test items were appropriate. But both the difficulty level and the discrimination index of test item number 10 were relatively low. It indicates that test item number 10 should be corrected. The correlation between the test grading level and the teacher's grading level measured .68 which is high. The results of the survey on the applicants indicated that the test duration, the speed of asking questions, and time limits for response were appropriate.
