1한국 초등학교 가정통신문의 어휘 특성 연구 -부산·울산·경남 지역을 중심으로-

This study aims to analyze words and phrases which are frequently used in newsletters from Korean elementary schools. In order to achieve this goal, high frequent words from school newsletters were selected and classified into content and function words, and the domains of the words were looked up. For this study 1,000 school newsletters were collected in the areas of Busan, Ulsan and Gyeongnam. In terms of parts of speech, nouns, especially common nouns, most frequently appeared in the school newsletters followed by verbs and adjectives. This result shows that for immigrant women who have basic knowledge on Korean language, it is useful to give translated words to get the message of school letters. Furthermore, school related terms such as facilities, regulations and activities of school and Chinese-based vocabularies are found in school newsletters. In case of verbs, the words which contain the meaning of requests and suggestions are used the most. Adjectives which are related to positive value and evaluation, and describing weather and season is frequently used as well. (Busan University of Foreign Studies)

The aim of this study was to analyze research trends in the fields of Korean Language and Literature, Korean Language Education, and Korean Language Education as a Foreign Language. To this end, key words were extracted from 29,470 academic theses published between 2000 and 2017. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, in the field of Korean Language and Literature, there is greater quantity in studies about Korean language than about literature, and starting from 2010, there was an increase in studies similar to those from the field of Korean Language Education as a Foreign Language. Next, in comparison to the other fields, the field of Korean Language Education has greater variance in its research theme-in particular, numerous studies related to the site of education. Finally, the field of Korean Language Education has the following trends: a) there are copious studies focused on Korean language learners in comparison to other fields, b) there are a greater number of studies focused on culture, and c) the key words change by time period which suggest that research demands transformed over time. Overall, a total of 64 highest frequency key words from the three academic fields were investigated. Of these, 22 were common key words and 42 were differential key words. The purpose of this study is to introduce an efficient measure in Korean language education for learners of Korean by applying shadowing techniques which focus on improving not only listening and speaking skills but also reading and writing skills. First of all, the study discusses about the definition of shadowing along with the effect of shadowing. The second part will be about examining the proposed method related to shadowing technique which is comprised of original shadowing techniques and other techniques transformed from the original. Thirdly, the paper will be discussing background information of the shadowing technique in previous researches and experiments using shadowing techniques in Korean language education. Finally, there will be an introduction of learning measures that apply to skill unification. Most of the previous researches of the shadowing technique were limited to a few students with only mid-to-high level learners while this method could cover up to a wide range of learners. The most effective way of learning a foreign language would firstly be the suggested method and the focus should be on repetition and practice of the learners. (Chung_Ang University)

The purpose of this study is to investigate learner-learner dialogue during speaking tasks. In the Korean language classroom, conversation between learners is an important activity as speaking practice. However, learner dialogue is also a tool to enable learners to collaboratively conduct various cognitive activities in the classroom. In previous research, it was unfolded that through learner-learner dialogue, learners can solve second-language related problems and set a goal to carry out tasks. Therefore, this study analyzed learner-learner dialogue to investigate what kinds of cognitive activities are activated during the role-play task. As a result, the learners collaboratively generated and monitored language and content for role play. Also, in order to accomplish tasks more successfully, learners shared the same understanding about the goal of the task, and tried to manage the task procedure. Through learner-learner dialogue, learners can participate in cognitive activities such as content, language construction, and task management voluntarily without the help from teachers. This means that learner-learner dialogue can be an activity to support language learning tasks. Also, it can make learners actively involved in learning and by sharing resources with each other. It is also important that learners can experience language use that participates in real-world communication activities, such as learning in the classroom and collaborating with peer learners. This study is an exploratory study for a basic understanding of learner's conversation as a cognitive activity, and the scope of the study is limited to clarifying contents of learner-learner dialogue as a cognitive activity in speaking tasks. Based on the findings of this study, future research should be conducted on the function of learner-learner dialogue as a cognitive activity in Korean language learning and its role in the classroom of Korean language education. The purpose of this paper is to develop a training program for overseas Korean language teachers focus on preservice teacher. This thesis based on the 2017 Korean Language (prospective) Teacher Overseas Dispatch and Practical Training Assistance Project (Almaty, Kazakhstan region). The present task established prospective teachers, career teachers, and local teachers as the targets of each assignment. We focused on developing a program that could match each of these characteristics. For prospective teachers, the program was designed and conducted with the goal of “improving real expertise through practical training,” whereas for career teachers the program was developed with the goal of “improving leadership” and “retraining teachers” by focusing on their abilities as middle managers to build and maintain foreign and domestic networks. For local teachers, the goal was to provide “retraining as Korean language teacher certification”. The limitations of those unable to attend domestic meetings were alleviated through training, workshops, and meetings, and a program was developed for real education practical training. For prospective teachers and career teachers in particular, the program was designed to center on a system of collaboration in which classes based on international Project Based Learning(iPBL) were conducted, and groups prepared practical training and practice modules. This study aims to analyze the types of writing tasks in Korean language and literature majors. There are many foreign students in the department of Korean language and literature. It is important to identify the type of task that is the subject of communication when conducting communication activities in an academic context. In particular, writing tasks are among the most important tasks that learners must perform. This is because most of the tasks assigned within the university curriculum are assigned to writing tasks, and evaluation is often done through learner writing. Therefore, this study investigated the types of tasks to be imposed on Korean Language and Literature majors. As a result, summary is the most frequent type of task in the department of Korean language. And in the department of Korean literature, review is most frequent type of task. The results of this study will help to prepare contents for foreign undergraduates of Korean language and literature majors. (Korea University)

The purpose of this study is to acoustically analyze eight Korean monophthongs produced by 29 Taiwanese learners of Korean and 20 native speakers of Korean, and to compare their pronunciations in experimental phonetics. Using the first formants(F1) and the second formants(F2) of Korean monophthongs, we can estimate the tongue positions of vowels produced by participants. In order to compare them directly, we had to normalize participants' F1 and F2. The result shows that almost all vowels of the Taiwanese learners are significantly different from those of Korean native speakers in their F1 and F2 values without the /ㅏ/ vowel. In particular, when pronouncing Korean monophthongs, the Korean learners of Taiwan had a narrow area of the place of articulation compared to the Korean native speakers except for back vowels. Finally, it shows that the Korean learners in Taiwan had a narrower range of articulation and articulated the vowels towards the back a little comparing to the Korean native speakers. The aim of this study is to design a Real-time video Korean curriculum. Curriculum using real-time video, which is a variant of distance learning, teaches Korean to students studying in distant places through real-time video communication program. This is expected to supplement the lack of interaction in existing video classes and enable online simultaneous interaction, while increasing learning opportunities for Korean language students living in distance places. To find out the needs of the subjects for the curriculum design, this study conducted a one-on-one interview with 9 female married immigrants who are enrolled in the Cyber University which is opening a curriculum later. According to the survey, the students answered that they have a high intention of attending classes if the lack of interaction in existing distance classes are supplemented. Therefore, we could confirm the demand of a curriculum consisting of an overall real-time video education and multilateral individual connection. Also, we found out that there is a demand in performance rather than comprehension and a high demand for detailed feedback from the teacher. The result shows that the curriculum needs to establish performance-oriented contents to progress to an advanced level Korean Language, and include a study plain comprising of real-time interaction.
