A model was constructed to estimate the critical duration. This model takes into account correlations with topographical factors in the small river basin. In order to apply the research results of this model, small rivers of Jangseong gun was selected as the target river. The results of this study are summarized as follows. The correlation coefficient between the critical duration and the topographical factors was higher in the river length and runoff curve index than in previous studies. The correlation between the critical duration and the topographic factors is higher as the shape factor is smaller. In the study, the correlation coefficient of regression equation in Group I with small shape factor improved 0.1195 over that obtained for the entire river, but the correlation coefficient did not improve in Group II with large shape factor. This is because the critical duration range is small in rivers with short river length compared to basin area. Base on the above studies, regression analysis of critical duration using topographic features can be performed by using the basin area, river length, runoff curve index, river mean slope and basin mean altitude and the smaller the shape coefficient, the higher the correlation.

1응집제를 활용한 미세조류의 제거효율 비교

The following conclusions were obtained from the batch coagulation experiment for several coagulants such as alkaline water, PAC, Chitosan, and Ca(OH)2 in order to compare the removal efficiency of microalgae by these coagulants. When alkaline water was used as a coagulant, removal efficiency of turbidity 95.5 %, DCW 95.4 %, OD 96.3 %, Chlorophyll-a 97.7 %, and PO4-P 76.1 % was obtained. When PAC was used, the effects of turbidity 98.2 %, DCW 99.5 %, OD 99.5 %, Chlorophyll-a 99.7 %, and PO4-P 99.4 % were obtained. Turbidity 96.4 %, DCW 98.0 %, OD 97.6 %, Chlorophyll-a 97.6 %, and PO4-P 20.8 % on by using Chitoson, and turbidity 89.4 %, DCW 95.8 %, OD 95.9 %, Chlorophyll-a 98.8 %, and PO4-P 87.3 % were able to be accomplished on Ca(OH)2 coagulant. The amount of sludge produced by coagulation after 40 minutes of settling time with each coagulant, as alkaline water, PAC, chitosan and Ca(OH)2 was shown to be 4.5 mL, 95 mL, 5 mL, and 10 mL. And the Chlorophyll-a concentrations in each flocculated sludge by different coagulant were measured as 48,800, 5,310, 35,750, 4,180 mg/m3, respectively. Alkaline water can be used as a coagulant without adjusting the pH, and the produced flocculation sludge is excellent in settling properties and can be used as a biomass of high compressed chlorophyll-a, so it is considered to be excellent as a eco-friendly coagulant.

This study was conducted to evaluate the use of low volume air sampler (LVAS) and polyurethane foam disk passive air samplers (PUF PAS) for better measurement of atmospheric polychlorinared biphenyls (PCBs) concentrations. Air samples were collected by a low volume air sampler (LVAS) and PUF PAS, a total of two pairs were continuously collected at the same time for 4 weeks. A good correlation was shown [MonoCB∼DiCB : R2=0.8289(p=0.012), TriCB∼HexaCB : R2=0.8388(p<0.0001)] between atmospheric PCBs concentration measured by the LVAS and PUF PAS. The sampling rate of all PCBs isomers showed higher than which were measured by other researchers in different cities. However, trace POPs such as PCBs may involve relatively large analytical errors in measurement, and as a result the air sampling rate of the respective PCB isomer is also likely to involve errors. The method of using a regression straight line between the concentrations obtained by the LVAS and those from the PUF PAS was judged better than the method using the sampling rate, since the former compensated for the experimental errors in the process of evaluation of atmospheric PCBs concentrations using the PUF PAS.

In this study, the variation in wind velocity of horizontal flow formed inside the building canyon was investigated numerically according to the L(Length)/H(Height) ratios of the building. The variations in positive and negative values of horizontal wind velocity components in x- and y-direction were derived and analyzed with vector fields in x-y sections. In the case of L/H=1.0, symmetry vortex on the L/2 center basis was found to be formed in the building canyon. In the case of L/H=3.0, the horizontal wind flow was separated, and additional vortex was developed. The double-symmetry vortexes were reinforced by the increase of L/H ratios. The horizontal wind flow and symmetry development patterns formed in the building canyon can be also interpreted in conjunction with the reverse changes in horizontal wind velocity components. It is expected that these findings can be utilized for quantitative assessment of fine-scale local airflows and various wind environments in urban areas.

The purpose of this study is to select the optimal culture materials for the growth of water flea and decide the adoption time of fry by understanding the change of dissolved oxygen in the water environment for ornamental fish culture in mud pond. From the result of determining the water quality according to the culture materials, pH was maintained in the range of 7.1 to 8.3 for all materials and conditions. In the case of fowl droppings, rice straw and fertilizer, the change of DO concentration was relatively small, but in the case of rice bran, fish food and yeast, the DO concentration tended to increase rapidly with time. The concentration of Chl-a was not changed significantly in fowl droppings and rice straw, but it increased rapidly after about 15 days in rice bran, fertilizer, fish food, and yeast. In the case of fowl droppings, the number of daphnia population increased from 5 days with the maximum after 15 days, and then remained stable. In the case of fertilizers, the population was less than 5 inds/10mL, which was the smallest. In the case of rice bran (0.6, 1.0, 3.0 g/L), fish food (0.3, 0.6, 1.0 g/L), and yeast (0.3, 0.6, 1.0 g/L), the number of daphnia increased rapidly after 15 days. There was a tendency that the number of individuals was about 2~3 times higher than that of fowl droppings. Rice straw and fertilizers were not suitable for the culture of water flea. Judging the criteria for the adoption time of the fry based from the DO (5 mg/L or more) and the number of daphnia (more than 5 inds/10mL), it seems appropriate to adopt the fish fry after 10 to 15 days from the fowl droppings addition. However, in the case of rice bran, fish food, and yeast, it is appropriate to adopt the fry about 25 days after addition.

Based on comprehensive measures for the management of fine dust at domestic and foreign. Two representative points in Daejeon (Gwanpyeong-dong Community Center and Daejeon Industrial Complex in Daehwa-dong) were selected. Sampling the fine dust for 4 days continuously by using high volume air sampler(120 CFM: Cubic Feet per Minute). And the mass concentration of PM10 and PM2.5, the concentration of positive ion (Na+, NH4+, K+, Ca2+, Mg2+) and negative ion (Cl-, NO3-, SO42-) were analyzed. As the results, the actual measurement values of fine dust was higher than automatic monitoring network. The reason is that the automatic monitoring network data is the average concentration for month, actual measurement values is attributed to sampling and analysis on the day of relatively high fine dust contamination. The results of ion analysis was showed the highest concentration of Na+ in summer. High concentration in winter such as NH4+, SO42- and NO3-. NH4+ is mainly caused by animal farms, fertilizer and organic matter decay. NO3- is believed to have been produced by secondary photochemical reactions.

In this study, we used the measurement data of the last three years of Seombon A, B, and C basin, the unit basin of TMDLs of Seomjin River. The distribution characteristics of TOC and the oxidation rate of BOD, COD items and the degradation rate with TOC were analyzed to identify the amount of non-degradable organic matter in the corresponding number. The volatility of the TOC is greater than that of the BOD, but smaller than that of the COD. Correlation analysis showed that TOC was highly correlated with COD items and was affected seasonally. As a result of analyzing the distribution characteristics of TOC items and the decomposition rate with BOD and COD, it can be applied to the standard items for water management.

Red mud(RM), a byproduct of alumina production, was incorporated with a transition metal, which was used as a catalyst for oxidation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). RM was treated with hydrochloric acid and ammonia and then calcined at 400 ℃(CRM). Cu, Mn, Co, Ni, and Zn were used as the transition metals for the modified CRM catalyst. The physical and chemical properties of each catalyst were investigated by BET, SEM, XRD, TPR and FTIR analysis. The transition metals improved the reaction activity of CRM. The order of activation of each catalyst according to transition metals was Cu/CRM > Mn/CRM> Co/CRM > Ni/CRM ≥ Zn/CRM > CRM. The activity order of the catalysts was associated with the mobility of the lattice oxygen of the catalyst. In addition, the catalytic activity with respect to the VOC molecule (benzene, toluene, and xylene) was related to the ionization potential energy of the aromatic compound.

The relationship between physicochemical and molecular structural properties of non-steroidal ecdysone agonists and their bioactivity was investigated in this study. 2 Dibenzoylhydrazines including RH 5849 and tebufenozide, 1 non-dibenzoylhydrazine, DTBHIB and 1 naturally found agonist, 8-O-acetylharpagide were selected and their molecular physicochemical parameter values such as Log P, hydrophilic-lipophilic balance(H.L.B.), hydrogen bond(H.B.), dipole moment(D.M.), and connectivity/kappa index and distribution of electronic charge were calculated/drawn using computer program to be compared. DTBHIB showed physicochemical and steric properties more similar to dibenzoylhydrazines than 8-O-acetylharpagide. Overally, non-steroidal ecdysone agonists showed an increasing tendency of bioactivity with the increase of their hydrophobicity within a certain range. It was also shown that dibenzoylhydrazines and DTBHIB share the common distribution pattern of molecular electronic charge which is offered by -C=O linked with the left benzene ring. These results suggest that bioactivity of non-steroidal ecdysone agonists is affected combinedly by physico-chemical properties such as hydrophilicity of the ligand, position and steric orientation of functional groups and distribution of electronic charge in the molecule, not only by the number of -OH in the molecule and resulting possibility of hydrogen bond with receptors.

This study was performed to examine the behavior of time dependent properties on RC columns subjected to high filled soil layer. By using Fortran program which is a modified version for the present purpose, a typical column in reinforced concrete structure was analyzed. Four different model equations for predicted time dependent concrete properties(ACI, CEB-FIP, Bazant & Panula, and Korea Bridge Specification) was employed, and the results were compared. It was found that a relevant creep coefficient is recommended to be 1.0 for designing columns in subway structure subjected by soil dead load, and the soil filling work would be performed at least 3 months later after the concrete casting in order to ensure durability by reducing the negative effect of concrete time dependent properties.
