This study aims to design humanitude care dances classes that contribute the health of older people with dementia. By reflecting on the humanitude care factors that accommodated the conditions and needs of the elderly with dementia, this study was intended to improve the quality of life of the elderly through dance classes. The class design effectively provides dance classes for the elderly with dementia to have a sense of stability and happiness not only physically but also psychologically and emotionally.

This study aims to investigate the academic environment of Chinese international students majoring in dance and to clarify how to improve the academic environment. In-depth interviews were conducted in the form of case studies, and the following conclusions were drawn. First, international graduate students majoring in dance require the implement of dance technique classes and improved support programs for them. Second, the international graduate students expect that professors will help to organize the professional terminology of the course. Third, the quality of the class is affected by the lack of enough Korean language ability of some foreign students. Finally, they want external dance recital information to be more easily accessible. Moreover, the enrollment system for international student needs to be updated.

This study examines the artistic value of dance projected on film, particularly, the relationship between dance and place in a dance film project 'Pungjeong. Gak' by choreographer Song Joo Won. It investigates how a place projected on a continuous image can obtain effects and aesthetic contents different from on the stage and have potential as a new dance art by exploring the relationship between the place and the situation that is instantaneously realized in the physical space from the Post structuralist perspective of Michel Foucault. In addition, I discuss Marc Augé's concept of Non-Places and theories about place to illuminate the placeness in which dance exists. The possibility of various interpretations of the space introduced in the dance Film is secured.

This thesis aims to explore the direction for dance by introducing hermeneutics one of the great flows of modern philosophy. The prerequisites for dance to become the subject of hermeneutics are examined through the methodology of applying the hermeneutics major theories of the representative scholars of hermeneutics such as Dilthey, Heidegger, and Gadamer, to the general dance.
From the perspective of Dilthey, dance reconstructs elements of human universal life through movement, and interpreters perform the process of 'experience-expression-understanding' and discover the specific meaning of dance. Heidegger believes that movement, the material of dance, must build truth on its own, and that when such truth is expressed through dance, the audience can interpret and understand it through the work. Gadamer emphasized that dance and audience are interpreted by communicating and understanding in artworks through the concept of 'play'.

The purpose of the study is to explore the literary value in John Cranko's Onegin. Onegin, one of the well-known Cranko's dramatic ballets, was created to ballet work based on Alexander Pushkin's novel Eugene Onegin. The study examines the literary value, based on the six factors of drama in Aristoteles's Poetic. 'Plot', the plots were revealed in Act 3, at the beginning, middle, and end. 'Character', it was described well as the novel characters. 'Thought' expressed Pushkin's belief in love and friendship, and Cranko expressed Ballet D'action idea. 'Diction', the character's personalities were described through the movement and mime of the dancer in ballet. The 'spectacle' expressed the situation of the times on the stage through the stage background, lighting, props, and costumes. 'Music' heightened the emotions and atmosphere suitable for the scene, further emphasizing the dramatic part. This study proves the Onegin is significantly meaningful in the literary value.

This study aims to develop new dancing movements with the application of the dependent origination theory of Buddhism. The researchers composed a dance piece based on meanings and structure of dependent origination as a Buddhist perception of phenomena, and symbol of Indra-Jala. We draw the artistic value and symbol by establishing the theoretical basis for the production of the dance based on dependent origination, and then apply it to the creation of movements. Through this process, this study suggests to reconsider the direction of life value in modern society filled with individualistic perspective and secular thinking. We also discover the artistic meanings and implications of the process of applying a theory into a dance.

The purpose of this study is to give suggestions for the restoration of Gupabal Sandaenori. Sandaenori means a mask dance which played at central districts in Korea. Currently handed down to Korea are Yangju Sandaenori and Songpa Sandaenori, as well as Toegyewon Sandaenori and Aeogae Sandaenori which have been reorganized today. Although Gupabal Sandaenori is not currently undergoing restoration work, there is a growing interest in its restoration. Thus, This study interviewed an elderly artist, a traditional performance researcher, and a new traditional performer.
The results of this study shows that first, continuous literature research is needed through the government's policy support. Second, this study proposes the expansion of Sandaenori into a festival rather than restoration. Third, it is necessary to produce a modernized stage of Sandaenori. Fourth, it must be provided through various school education programs. Fifth, Sandaenori dance should be emphasized. Sixth, it should be developed with various contents that young generation can relate to and identify with.

The purpose of this study is to examine the fantasy in the 19th century Romantic Ballet by paying attention to the romantic fantasy of dance works and C. G. Jung's collective unconscious theory. By discussing the structure of the human psyche projected in the works, I suggest that ballet is a meaningful symbol of the process of self-realization of the integration of consciousness and unconsciousness. Ballet has long been recognized for its value in both historical and aesthetic terms, while a sociological perspective that raises questions about existing aesthetic perceptions has emerged through criticism in the late 20th century. However, this study, which illuminate the unconscious, is a more thorough interdisciplinary study that links the typical structure of classical ballet with the essence of the universal human mind, thereby providing a theoretical basis for illuminating new interpretations and meanings of ballet as an art.

In order to study the surrealism in the Family Trilogy of the Peeping Tom Dance Company, this research centers on the video materials and literature materials of these three works. The Peeping Tom dance troupe in this study has been conveying a certain message to the audience through a surreal expression. The work 「Vader」 expresses the real human heart and the surrealism of desire through the combination of realistic and non-realistic dream scenes. 「Moeder」 also uses the combination of reality and non-reality to create a dream-like stage atmosphere. In addition, the work 「Kind」 also makes use of irrational violent scenes to show the audience an irrational surrealism stage scene that breaks away from moral constraints. This examination illuminates the Family Trilogy has the characteristics of surrealism, and also reflects the influence of surrealism on the style of dance works and has long-term significance for future dance creation.

This study aims to identify the level of perception of dance majors in college on dance education specialized in dementia, and to provide basic data on the direction of specialized dance education and employment. The questions in the survey were divided into questions about perception of dementia and questions about dance education. In addition, frequency analysis was conducted to analyze the response results. Frequency analysis was conducted using the Excel 2013 and SPSS 18.0 programs. The results of the study showed that the perception of dementia among dance majors is somewhat higher than that of ordinary college students. We hope that the dance program specializing in dementia for college students will be expanded in the future. It is also expected that dance-specialized education programs related to dementia can be developed in a systematic and multi-layered direction.

This paper examines the revolutionary dance drama Small-Sword Society to verify its political meaning and artistic value. Small-Sword Society is the first revolutionary dance drama in China, and consists of seven chapters. Each part shows the forms of early China dance, social life, political image, history, and red culture which represents the pioneers' revolutionary struggle and spirit of sacrifice. Small-Sword Society video (1:17:41) is analyzed to understand the historical background, and cultural forms of revolutionary dance drama of China. This analysis verifies the value of Small-Sword Society. Also, we can check the changing pattern of Chinese revolutionary dance drama.

This study aimed to diagnose the functions of dance criticism by considering dance choreographers' perception of criticism that is placed in the center of dance arts as an object of criticism. For this study, the open-ended survey was conducted, and the results were drawn through the inductive analysis. In the results of this study, most of the choreographers approached criticism through various media, and they had the conceptual and stereotyped perception of the functions of criticism. However, the choreographers who experienced criticism of their own works in field, reviewed works based on experts' various opinions, and also perceived it as a means of introspection. At the same time, they raised problems like absence of objectivity and professionalism, distortion of meanings, lack of validity, and narrow mindedness. Therefore, to set up the value that could be accepted in field, it would be certainly necessary to understand and analyze the object of criticism.

This study aims to clarify the ontological meaning and value of dance as an art form in the era of COVID-19, based on an observation of the difficult situation that dance currently faces. First, it identifies the ecosystem of dance in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis and identifies the artistry as well as forms of dance that have been transformed during the crisis. e.g., cases of dance shifting to digital and online platforms. Second, the study distinguishes dance from its social function and views its aesthetic meaning as pleasure. This indicates that the identity of dance lies in the beauty of the body, in expressing joy and imagination. As a result, the source of beauty in dance art is independent from its practical interests. Dance art is, as it always has been, a body art and mental art that reveals the fragmentary processes of our lives through bodily moves.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the contents of elementary P.E. textbooks in terms of the subject and core competency areas of global citizenship education to see if the areas of expression in elementary P.E. textbooks under the 2015 revised education curriculum reflect the perspective of global citizenship education. In order to achieve the research objectives, the subject areas of global citizenship education were classified into human rights, environment, multiculturalism, and community. The analysis results are as follows.
First, the subject of human rights reflects the contents of discrimination and human dignity. Second, the environmental theme reflects the contents of natural environment, resources and sustainable development. Third, the multicultural theme reflects the contents of cultural diversity, pride in one's culture, and interest in other cultures. Fourth, the community theme reflects the contents of harmony, order, and rules.

This study analyzes the practical aspects of the system regarding the transmission and preservation of intangible cultural heritage originated from the North Korean region. The state, city, ibuk5do considered how the intangible cultural heritage system protects intangible cultural assets based on North Korea, and their ways of consideration has been changing through time. As the Cultural Heritage Protection Regulation was enacted on May 1, 1998, Ibuk5do intangible cultural heritage was classified and an independent system was established. However, there is still a problem with insufficient support measures, because there are no actual local governments. Although the system was established, problems such as poor subsidies and lack of professional operations have arisen due to the lack of practical conditions. Therefore, it is necessary to prepare an independent policy support system for intangible cultural heritage originated from the North Korean region in North Korea.

This study analyzed the emergence in Talchum (Korean mask dance) based on Erika Fisher-Richte's performance theory. The research method examined how the materiality and meaning of talchum emerged during the performance process. Talchum creates materiality by using body, sound, movement, and tools. Materiality is revealed through the performers' actions, and the audience perceives materiality through the performers' actions. As the audience's perception is expressed as a physical reaction, the meaning is experienced aesthetically, and the performance appears as an unpredictable event. The artistry of talchum lies in the fact that physical and conscious changes occur in the process of creating meaning and experiencing meaning while the actor and the audience continue to perceive and react.
